Cars from TCR Eastern Europe powered by ESET will bolster the grid for this weekend’s opening TCR Europe event of the season to 38 cars, with nine drivers joining from Poland, Germany, Czechia, Serbia and Croatia.
The TCR Europe series had already revealed a huge 31-car full-season entry, and with the addition of nine more cars, taking into account a few drivers who cannot race in TCR Europe at the Hungaroring, there will be a huge 38-car field heading into Turn 1 at the weekend.
Four CUPRAs, two Volkswagens, one Audi, one Hyundai and one Honda have been entered by drivers for the first round of the new TCR Eastern Europe series, which will move on to the Red Bull Ring in mid-May after this weekend’s opening event.
Fullinrace Academy has entered two CUPRAs for Czech racer Petr Čížek and German Carol Wittke, whilst two more have been entered by ASK Vesnić for Milovan Vesnić and by Auto Klub Dubrovnik Racing for Žarko Knego.
An older-spec FK2 Civic has also been entered by ASK Vesnić for Jakub Wyszomirsky, whilst GM Racing has entered an Audi for France-born Serbian Rudolf ‘Rudi’ Pešović, who has previously competed in the FIA European Touing Car Cup and has experience of the RS3 TCR from 2017.
Two Volkswagen Golf GTi cars have been entered by RTM Motorsport and GT2 Motorsport for Polish racer Maciej Łaskiewicz, who competed in the 2017 ETCC finale, and Czech Jáchym Galáš.
One Hyundai has been entered by K2 Engineering for 16-year-old Dušan Kouřil from Serbia.
The TCR Eastern Europe series will share the grid with the TCR Europe cars in both of the weekend’s races.
