The starting grid for both TCR Europe races at the TT Circuit Assen have been amended, after three drivers had their lap times reinstated following successful appeals after qualifying.
Near the end of the Q2 session Dániel Nagy had his lap time removed for exceeding track limits, initially leaving the Hyundai driver in eighth position for race one.
But following an appeal by M1RA, Nagy’s time of 1:45.282 was reinstated, putting him fourth fastest, which becomes third after Josh Files’ three-lace grid penalty from the Hungaroring is applied.
Nagy’s M1RA team had also appealed against pole-sitter Jean-Karl Vernay, who they felt had blocked the Hungarian, but no change was made in respect to that incident.
Dušan Borković also had his seventh-quickest time reinstated, having initially been classified in 11th after his lap time was initially deleted for exceeding track limits.
However, the Target Competition driver will start race one from tenth after his three-place grid penalty, like Files, is applied.
Championship leader Mikel Azcona also benefitted from being reinstated to eighth (seventh with Borković’s penalty), having provisionally been put in 12th when the session first ended.
The grid shuffle gives Stian Paulsen the reverse-grid pole position for race two by virtue of having posted the tenth fastest time in Q2, ahead of Julien Briché.
