Jamie Green aiming for resurgance at Brands Hatch

Since 2015, Britain’s Jamie Green has been a clear contender for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters driver title, having place in the top three for three years in succession, but it’s not been the case for the Leicester driver in the current campaign.

The Team Rosberg driver is however looking to have good results this weekend, which will help move his efforts this year into a positive direction.

“The GP circuit is an old-school racetrack with many fast, long bends, slightly like Zandvoort,” said Green, who so far this year has just scored 11 points.

The 36-year-old has only scored points in three of the ten races run so far, having his best result at Lausitzring race two.

But with all drivers including Green looking forward to the opportunity to drive another track that shares similar characteristics with Zandvoort, he looks to better his fourth place at the Indy circuit back, which happened back in 2008.

“This will be exciting for us drivers, a true high-speed challenge. I haven’t won a DTM race in my home country, and it would be great if I’d succeed in doing so this year.”

With the DTM going to a full UK Grand Prix circuit for the first time since Donington Park in 2004, Head of Audi Sport Dieter Gass knows that the conditions for everybody is the same, including a reduction of the pit lane speed limit, which is 50 km/h for this weekend.

“The track profile is similar to the ones of Zandvoort and Budapest. That’s why we’re hoping to perform like we did on those two tracks.”
