2015 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters champion Pascal Wehrlein was fastest during second practice at Circuit Park Zandvoort, ahead of current points leader Gary Paffett this morning (Saturday, July 14th), with the pair from Stuttgart being separated by only 0.054 seconds.
The thirty-minute session saw all 18 drivers split by just 1.675 seconds at the end, with Jamie Green taking third place, ahead of Loïc Duval and local hero Robin Frijns, who completed the top three.
Paul Di Resta set his best effort of a 1:31.082 on his final run in practice, putting the Scotsman sixth, ahead of first practice pace setter Lucas Auer.
Philipp Eng was the sole BMW driver that was able to make it into the top ten, as the Austrian put his M4 DTM was eighth fastest, 0.469 seconds off Wehrlein’s pace.
Edoardo Mortara and defending champion René Rast completed the top ten, with Augusto Farfus missing out by just 0.008 seconds at the chequered flag.
Despite a trip through the gravel at the end of the session, Daniel Juncadella still kept himself in the top 12, as the Spaniard posted a 1:31.498 around the 4.307-km circuit, ahead of Nico Müller, Joel Eriksson, Marco Wittmann and Bruno Spengler.
Mike Rockenfeller was still able to return to the track following his off-circuit excursion in first practice, but the 2013 champion was 1.339 seconds off the pace set by Wehrlein down in 17th, with Timo Glock completing the finishing order.
Qualifying for the first race of the weekend at Circuit Park Zandvoort starts at 11.20 CEST (BST + 1 Hour), lasting for 20 minutes.
