Following on from the spectacular incident in the first DTM race of the weekend at EuroSpeedway Lausitz, defending champion René Rast will no longer take part in proceedings.
The damage was far too extensive for Audi Sport Team Rosberg to repair in time for tomorrow, along with Rast also not being cleared on medical grounds to compete.
The Ingolstadt brand made the official announcements earlier this afternoon (Saturday, May 19th) via social media.
An update from Lausitzring: Due to the heavy damage on @ReneRastRacing's car, we have decided to run with 5 Audi RS 5 DTM cars tomorrow. René's car will be dismantled and the monocoque revised. Afterwards, we will prepare the car to have René back in the game in Budapest. #DTM pic.twitter.com/XKCxLG1ElS
