Sandro Kaibach will move to the PROsport Performance team for the 2018 ADAC TCR Germany series, racing an Audi RS3 LMS alongside Max Hesse.
20-year-old Kaibach finished 13th overall in last year’s TCR Germany standings, claiming a best result of sixth at the Nürburgring and a total of six top ten finishes.
“Driving on the ADAC GT Masters support program in front of a great crowd was an additional incentive to start in the series,” said Kaibach of his first year in TCR Germany. “PROsport Performance is an experienced team that has been very successful in the 2017 season.
“I want to take another step forward in my career. In addition, I believe the team change was a correct decision.”
Team Manager Chris Esser can see a lot of potential in the young former Renault Clio Cup racer.
“Sandro Kaibach has great potential,” added Esser. “He already has a lot of experience from the past year and has already been able to show his abilities several times.
“I am optimistic that we can successfully partner with him in the coming season.”
Kaibach will combine his TCR Germany season with racing an Audi R8 LMS in the International DMV GTC (Gran Turismo and Touring Car Cup).
Hesse has already been announced as part of the PROsport line-up, with the 16-year-old expecting a challenging season in 2018.
“I am very happy to compete for the whole season,” said Hesse, who took part in the final four races of the 2017 season. “This will be an important experience for me and I would like to draw attention to myself with good results.
“I trust in an experienced team with PROsport Performance headed by team boss Chris Esser. In 2017 they were the best Audi team in the ADAC TCR Germany and of course I would like to join them.
“This is not going to be an easy year. The diversity of the TCR vehicles is very high. It is very important to be 100% ready in qualifying, as a good starting position is very important for the later races.”
