French team JSB Compétition have announced plans to run a single brand new Peugeot 308 in TCR Europe for last year’s Peugeot 308 Racing Cup champion Julien Briché.
JSB have previously entered an event of the TCR International Series, when in 2015 they ran a pair of SEAT Leóns in Valencia at the third-ever TCR round.
In recent years they have also competed in the SEAT León Eurocup and the Peugeot 308 Racing Cup in France.
“This marks a big step forward for our team, as the TCR Europe series will feature a great deal of strong teams and drivers,” said Team Manager Julien Briché. “For the time being we have finalised the programme for one car, but we are in negotiations with a few other drivers to run a second 308 TCR from the beginning of the season.
Team Owner and driver Briché has many one-make series titles to his name, having also won the Peugeot 206 Cup in 2002 and 2005, and the French SEAT León Supercópa in 2010.
“I am very proud to begin this new adventure in the TCR Europe series with the Peugeot 308 TCR,” continued the 37-year-old from Clermont-Ferrand. “The car is well born and has a great potential.
“It will be a tough championship, with a lot of very fast drivers, but we will do our best to show off!”
