Josh Files will make his first appearance in the TCR International Series this year in the season finale in Dubai, where the Brit will support M1RA’s Attila Tassi in the fight for the championship.
Files will team up alongside the team’s regular drivers Tassi and Roberto Colciago, with the latter still technically in with an outside shot at the drivers’ title as well.
Already a three-time TCR champion, Files successfully defended his ADAC TCR Germany crown in 2017, as well as claiming the TCR Middle East title in January – despite not actually taking part in the first round at the Dubai Autodrome.
“This will be my third straight year contesting the final round of the TCR International Series,” said Files, who also raced in Macau in 2015 and 2016.
“I’m thrilled to be doing it and am aiming to challenge for victories and to help M1RA and Honda achieve their title ambitions, despite the circuit being new to me.
“M1RA have done a superb job in their first year, have an incredible record for such a young team and always field fast and well-presented cars. I can’t wait to get going.”
The season finale takes place in the United Arab Emirates next weekend (18 and 19 November).
