Rafaël Galiana will once again enter the TCR International Series races in Asia, as the Frenchman joins WestCoast Racing for next weekend’s races at the new Zhejiang International Circuit.
For the past three years Galiana has entered the Asian rounds of the TCR International Series, contesting three rounds in 2015 with Target Competition before taking on four Asian rounds in 2016 with WestCoast Racing and Target.
Now the 57-year-old will renew his acquaintance with WestCoast Racing as he steps in to the team’s second Volkswagen Golf Gti, filling the seat vacated by Giacomo Altoè and taken up by Kantadhee Kusiri in Thailand.
“I’m very happy to drive again in the TCR International Series, especially at Zhejiang, because it is an interesting new circuit,” said Galiana. “Every year I would like to do more races, but I’m always very busy.
“I have just delivered a new Grade 1 racetrack in Kuwait that should be inaugurated by the middle of 2018 and now I am working on a few karting circuits in China.”
The Tecpro safety barrier entrepreneur is only entered for the races in China at present, where he will be seeking to better his best result of eighth, which he scored in Macau in 2016.
