Tony Gilham’s Team HARD outfit have entered into a partnership with Brisky Racing to enter a three-car team into next season’s inaugural TCR UK Series.
Gilham has been involved in the British Touring Car Championship since the 2011 season, initially as a driver before switching to running a team in 2012.
Having left the BTCC in 2014 after selling its assets to Team BMR, Gilham returned with Team HARD in 2015, whilst also continuing to run cars in the Volkswagen Racing Cup.
Brisky Racing had already announced their intention to enter TCR UK in 2018, and now the two outfits have joined forces in order to field TCR cars in the UK.
Team HARD released a statement which said that the deal “brings additional expertise and backing to the Team HARD operation while also giving Brisky Racing BTCC-level support and back-up for its planned three-car team in the new TCR UK championship, which is scheduled to start next year.
“Brisky Racing have already been the first to publicly commit their support to TCR UK and run multiple cars next year.
“Richard Wheeler’s Brisky Racing outfit currently sponsor and support Team HARD and are looking forward to turning this into a long-term relationship.
“This will extend the combined operation to in excess of 50 cars and with an extensive infrastructure already in place, this will only strengthen each individual championship we compete in as well as all of the off-track activities.”
