Leopard Racing will add a third car for Jaap van Lagen in this weekend’s TCR International Series races at Oschersleben in Germany, with the aim of supporting Jean-Karl Vernay’s championship challenge.
Van Lagen returns to the team for a second event, having previously raced at Monza earlier this year. At the time the Dutchman was standing in for new regular second driver Rob Huff, who had to miss the event due to clashing WTCC commitments.
Now both van Lagen and Huff will line-up on the grid for the event in Germany, as the WRT-run squad expand to three cars for the first time.
Van Lagen has previous touring car racing experience in the WTCC, where he was a regular driver with the factory LADA squad between 2008 and 2015.
Vernay is currently third overall in the championship standings, ten adrift of leader Attila Tassi.
