Audi Sport’s Jamie Green was quickest of all in the final 30-minute practice session for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters at the Lausitzring the morning (Sunday, May 21st), as the Team Rosberg driver led an Ingolstadt 1-2-3-4.
The Briton posted a decent effort of a 1:16.745, 0.119 seconds ahead of René Rast, who took his maiden podium finish yesterday afternoon, whilst the Team Abt Sportsline pair of Mattias Ekström and Nico Müller completed the top four.
Mercedes-AMG Motorsport’s Robert Wickens was the fastest of the Stuttgart contingent in fifth with a 1:17.002, ahead of current points leader Lucas Auer and Gary Paffett.
Tom Blomqvist was the best of the BMWs down in eighth place, 0.590 seconds off the pace set by Green, with Timo Glock for close company in ninth.
Mike Rockenfeller could have been faster, but a technical problem in the form of an E-gas activator caused the 2013 champion to slow half way through the session and force him into the garage.
Augusto Farfus just missed out on getting into the top ten by 0.014 seconds, but was still faster than defending champion Marco Wittmann.
Rookie Loïc Duval was 13th, ahead of Edoardo Mortara, whilst Maxime Martin, Maro Engel, Paul Di Resta and Bruno Spengler completed the order of the 18-strong pack.
Qualifying for race two for the DTM at Lausitz gets underway at 1130 local time, lasting for 20 minutes.
