The Mulsanne Racing team are to skip the Belgian round of the TCR International Series at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend, as Romeo Ferraris opt to spend the time fixing ‘teething troubles’ on the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta car.
In a statement by Romeo Ferraris, who are behind the build of the new TCR car, the outfit said that they were planning to fix some of the problems which were encountered in the first two meetings of the season in Bahrain and Portugal.
“Our Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR has encountered some teething problems in the first two races of the TCR International Series.
“Problems that have already been identified and are being resolved, but they are necessary to test to check for changes and updates made, that were scheduled in the coming weeks.
“We therefore agreed with the our engineers, albeit reluctantly, to give up our participation in the next race at Spa circuit to be able to resubmit in the next few competitive races.”
The car has been built by Romeo Ferraris and was run in the first two meetings of the year by Mulsanne Racing, with Michela Cerruti at the wheel. She achieved a season-best result of 13th in the opening race in Bahrain.
