Stefano D’Aste and Ibrahim Okyay are set to reappear in the 2011 World Touring Car Championship event in Germany at the end of this month.
D’Aste, who replaced Urs Sonderegger for the Portugal rounds of the championship, will once again drive for Wiechers-Sport. The 37-year-old was unable to race in the last round at Donington Park due to previous commitments in the GT4 European Cup at Zolder. As a result, Colin Turkington took the seat in a one-meeting deal only.
D’Aste has previously driven for the German Wiechers-Sport team for two full seasons in 2007 and 2009.
Turkish racer Ibrahim Okyay also returns to the championship for the Oschersleben races in Germany. The 41-year-old contested the third meeting of the year at Monza in Italy and scored two 16th-placed finishes. He will once again drive a BMW 320si for the Borusan Otomotiv team.
