Marco Butti to contest TCR Europe with MM Motorsport

Italian Marco Butti is to join the TCR Europe series full-time in 2025, racing a Honda Civic Type-R for MM Motorsport.

Butti, 20, made his TCR Europe début in 2022 with Comtoyou Racing, but has yet to take on a full season in the regional championship.

The Italian completed full seasons in TCR Italy in 2021, his début year in TCR, and returned in 2023 with Target Competition, when he was a three-time winner and title contender in a Hyundai Elantra, eventually finishing fourth overall.

Last year, Butti signed with GOAT Racing to contest the full FIA TCR World Tour, finishing ninth overall in a Honda, with three podium finishes to his name.

He will spend 2025 racing in Europe, with MM Motorsport making its début in the series this year, the Bergamo-based team having previously competed predominantly in TCR Italy and TCR Eastern Europe.

“I can’t wait to get started!” said Butti. “Last years’ experience allowed me to grow a lot as a driver but above all, to know the Civic TCR in depth.

“I have built a background of information that I am sure will be very useful to us this year.

“I know the potential of MM Motorsport well, and I know what these guys are capable of. I’m convinced that together we can achieve excellent results.

“It won’t be easy, the championship has grown a lot this year and the level is very high. It will be an incredible challenge.”

MM Motorsport Team Principal Emanuele Alborghetti believes that Butti is a good fit for its first foray into the European series.

“We at MM Motorsport have been interested in entering the TCR Europe for a long time, and with Marco we have found the right combination,” said Alborghetti.

“Marco is a talented driver, young but already experienced, a unique mix that has convinced us to take on this important challenge.

“We are entering the toughest TCR Europe season in recent years. It is an important step for our team which has already shown it can win in championships such as TCR Italy and TCR Eastern Europe.”
