Mikey Doble remains with Power Maxed Racing in 2025

Mikey Doble will lead the charge for Power Maxed Racing in the 2025 British Touring Car Championship, after agreeing a deal to tackle a third successive season in one of the team’s Vauxhall Astras.

Doble, 26, made his BTCC début in 2023 with the Bidford-on-Avon-based team, putting together a consistent season that saw him finish fifth in the Independent Drivers’ standings and 20th overall, including a sensational pole position at Silverstone.

Last year, Doble went even better, ending the year second in the Independent Drivers’ standings, winning the Jack Sears’ Trophy, finishing 12th overall and claiming a maiden outright podium finish at Oulton Park.

Re-signing for a third successive season at the Vauxhall team, Doble is set to become the team’s longest-serving driver in 2025.

It marks a new era for the team, which has had to regroup following the loss of a long-term title sponsor and only recently announced Motor Parts Direct as its new title partner for an initial one-car entry.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to the BTCC for a third straight year and aiming to kick on from what has already been an amazing couple of years in the championship,” said Doble.

“I’m delighted to be doing it with Power Maxed Racing and leading the charge there, showing everyone, our best is yet to come.

“So far I’ve accomplished everything that I set out to achieve in my first couple of years in the BTCC including scoring a pole position in qualifying, an overall podium finish and of course winning the Jack Sears Trophy last season.

“This year we’re looking to take things up to the next level by challenging for podiums on a more regular basis, taking that Independent Drivers’s title and ultimately winning a race – it won’t be a success in my eyes if we don’t do the latter.

“Everyone at the team has been working really hard over these past few months and I cannot wait to get back out in the Vauxhall Astra, starting at Croft for the first official test in just a few weeks’ time.”
