TOCA has published the list of teams which hold TOCA BTCC Licences [TBLs] for the 2025 British Touring Car Championship season, with a total of 24 licences being issued.
The total number of TBLs is down by three compared to one year ago, although only 20 full-time entries took part in the 2024 season, leaving seven unused TBLs this year compared with those issued in December 2024.
The main changes are the fact that Aiden Moffat Racing and Carl Boardley (CBM Racing) no longer holds TBLs, with those licences unused in the 2024 season and thus being returned to TOCA (Aiden Moffat competed with a Speedworks Motorsport TBL in 2024).
Teams must hold a TBL for each car taking part in the championship, although TBLs can be bought, sold and loaned between teams.
Eight entities are in possession of at least one TBL, with the allocation amongst the top teams, EXCLR8 Motorsport, Alliance Racing, West Surrey Racing and Speedworks Motorsport, remaining unchanged at four each.
Power Maxed Racing has reduced to two TBLS for 2025, along with One Motorsport, which still holds two licences despite taking a sabbatical in 2024.
Un-Limited Motorsport now holds two TBLs, having previously had none, in effect acquiring two of the unused licences held by other entities in 2024.
The official entry list will be published on 15 April 2025.
The official entry list will be published in late March.
