Motion Motorsport and Ryan Bensley will make their TCR UK début in this weekend’s season finale at Silverstone with a Lynk & Co 03 TCR.
Bensley, a race winner and previous title contender in the Civic Cup, was originally planning to join the TCR UK field with Pro Alloys Racing in 2024, but those plans failed to come to fruition following a challenging year off track.
Now the Norfolk-based driver will finally get a chance to join the TCR UK grid in the same make of car – albeit different chassis – to that originally planned.
Bensley will race the Lynk & Co 03 previously raced by Viktor Andersson in last year’s TCR Europe series.
“I’m excited to be making my TCR UK début with Motion Motorsport in the Lynk & Co 03 TCR this weekend,” said Bensley, who has recently tested the car at Donington Park.
“I am looking forward to driving the car, from the limited running I have had, the car just feels sensational to drive.
“With more track time, I know it can be a consistent front-running machine. I’m looking to be on the pace for the finale, so that I can prepare for next year and improve further with the car and the team.”
Championship Promoter Stewart Lines is pleased to see a Lynk & Co car once again represented on the grid in TCR UK.
“Ryan has been one of the stalwarts of the Milltek Sport Civic Cup and it’s great to see him move into touring car racing and join TCR UK,” said Lines.
“It’s also good to see another Lynk & Co back on the grid, showing the growing diversity of brands we have in the championship this season.”
