Andrew Dyer and ARK Motorsport step up to TCR UK for season finale

Audi TT Cup racer Andrew Dyer is to step up to the TCR UK series at Silverstone this weekend, where he will race a Hyundai i30 N TCR prepared by his own team ARK Motorsport.

Dyer will race the Hyundai previously campaigned by Sam Laidlaw, who is set to change teams for this weekend’s final meeting.

The news brings the number of i30s on the grid to five for this weekend, following the expansion of JH Racing to three cars to add Alistair Camp to its entry.

Pontypridd-based Dyer is currently fourth overall in this year’s BRSCC Audi TT Cup series, one of the support races in the TCR UK package. He has previously raced in the CityCar Cup in 2021 and 2022, before moving into Audi TT racing last year.

“I’m so pleased to announce that I’m making my début this weekend in TCR UK,” said Dyer. “Having raced in Audi TTs for the last two seasons, this is a great chance to step up and try out a touring car for the first time.

“I’m very grateful to Steve Laidlaw for all his help in getting this together, however, I’m keeping my feet on the ground.

“My first time in the car will be during the Friday test day, so this weekend is all about learning. If I can take three race finishes, I’ll be very happy.”

Dyer’s entry takes the field in TCR UK up to 16 cars this weekend.
