Jenson Brickley and Nicolas Taylor to début in Valencia

British tin-top racer Jenson Brickley will join the TCR Europe grid for the season finale in Valencia, with Canadian racer Nicolas Taylor also committing to taking part in the final round.

Brickley, 20, made his TCR début in 2023 when he took part in a full season in TCR UK, finishing an impressive third overall after scoring one win and a further five second-place finishes.

Upgrading to the latest CUPRA Leon VZ TCR for 2024, Brickley has been tackling the TCR Spain series, where he has already claimed three podium finishes out of four races to lead the drivers’ standings at the half-way stage of the season.

The Brit will continue to race with his self-run team, Jenson Brickley Racing.

“I am super-excited to be joining the TCR Europe grid for the final round at Valencia in a few weeks time” said Brickley.

“We have really enjoyed our experience overseas so far this season and thought that it was the right time to step up to TCR Europe and see how we fare against the others!

“It’s a new challenge for us as a team but we are going to give it our all. Hopefully we can gain some valuable experience at Valencia, which is a new track for me, in preparation for rounds five and six of TCR Spain the weekend after.”

Also joining the TCR Europe finale at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia will be 18-year-old Canadian Nicolas Taylor.

Taylor, who will be the first Canadian to compete in TCR Europe, has spent 2024 racing in TCR Italy, having made his début at Misano earlier this year.

He will be entered by PMA Motorsport in an Audi RS3 LMS TCR II, the same team and car with which he has claimed two outright podiums already in 2024.

“I’m really looking forward to joining TCR Europe in Valencia to give me a feel for what it’s like racing against even higher level drivers to further develop my skills,” said Taylor, who is currently fourth overall in TCR Italy.

“TCR Italy is quite an aggressive championship with a large competitive grid, so it has been excellent for me, allowing me to quickly develop the skills necessary for success in touring car racing.

“I’m confident that the Italian series has been very helpful overall at preparing me to compete in TCR Europe at the end of this year.

“I have already been doing countless laps at Valencia on my custom World Pro Racing simulator to get an understanding of the track before we arrive.”
