The addition of Dušan Borković to the FIA TCR World Tour grid in Marrakech will see at least 12 cars taken on the African street circuit on 3 – 4 May 2024.
Borković, 39, last took part in a World Touring Car race back in 2015, when he contested the opening two rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, which was also the last time he raced in Honda machinery.
However, the Moroccan weekend nine years ago also proved to be the end of both Borković and Proteam Motorsport in the WTCC, as he pulled out of the series after a dispute with the team over modifications to the car to accommodate his 2.06 m height.
Since then, the Serbian racer has predominantly raced touring cars in Europe, including in TCR Europe, where he is contesting the full season.
Last weekend at the opening round in Vallelunga, Italy, Borković finished seventh and tenth respectively in two action-packed races in his GOAT Racing Honda.
He will join the field of the TCR World Tour in Morocco next weekend, where the series races twice on Saturday 4 May.
“I’m delighted to be joining the GOAT Racing team for the FIA TCR World Tour in Marrakech,” said Borković. “Honoured to partner with talented drivers like Esteban Guerrieri and Marco Butti.
“I’m proud to represent Serbia alongside Honda, JAS and GOAT Racing team. I’m ready to give my best.”
