Mauger Motorsport, run by rally driver Simon Mauger, will make its début in the TCR UK series in 2024, running a CUPRA TCR in the Gen 1 Cup.
The team is run by businessman and rally driver Simon Mauger, and plans to run a sole CUPRA TCR for a yet-to-be-revealed driver.
“We’re a small team, however, that’s not stopped us from talking part at various levels of the ladder in UK Club Motorsport,” said Mauger, who himself raced in the BRSCC SuperSport Trophy last year.
“After testing the CUPRA TCR, I decided the next step up was to be in TCR UK this year.
“I’ve watched TCR UK grow in recent seasons and with the introduction of the Gen 1 Cup, it’s the ideal time to bring my team to the championship.
“We hope to help either a young driver on their way up the touring car ladder or to run customers who are looking to make a successful debut in TCR UK.”
TCR UK Promoter Stewart Lines has welcomed the decision by Mauger to enter his team into the touring car series.
“It’s great to see a brand-new team entering TCR UK,” said Lines. “The championship is a sustainable way for people who want to go and race touring cars.
“We welcome Mauger Motorsport onboard for the 2024 season.”
