Dušan Borković will return to the TCR Europe series in 2024, switching to race a new Honda Civic Type-R FL5 TCR for the Spain-based GOAT Racing team.
Borković has had an on-off relationship with the European series in recent years, having been a championship contender in the inaugural season in 2018, before his 2019 season was marred by a controversial ban.
After dominating TCR Eastern Europe in 2020, in which he won all eight races from pole position, Borković returned to TCR Europe in 2021 but was only 12th overall in a first-generation Audi RS3.
He focussed on rallying in 2022, before returning to TCR Europe in 2023 in a Target Competition-run Hyundai Elantra.
But the 39-year-old Serb and the team withdrew during the fifth event at Circuit Paul Ricard, in protest at the Balance of Performance [BoP] situation, in a season which was dominated by Audi drivers.
Borković, a four-time race winner in the series, thus changes car and team again for 2024, partnering with the Barcelona-based GOAT Racing team recently formed by Rubén Fernández Gil, with Pepe Oriola as Team Manager.
GOAT Racing has already confirmed a Honda campaign in the FIA TCR World Tour, with drivers Marco Butti and Esteban Guerrieri.
The opening round of the TCR Europe season takes place at Vallelunga on 19 – 21 April, which is also the first round of the FIA TCR World Tour.
