Dylan O’Keeffe will return to TCR Australia at this weekend’s season opener at Sandown, with the four-time race winner joining Ashley Seward Motorsport to race its Lynk & Co 03 TCR.
O’Keeffe was part of TCR Australia from the very beginning, making his debut in 2019 with the ASM team with which he enjoyed most of his success.
Then racing an Alfa Romeo, O’Keeffe and ASM were title contenders for much of the year, as the 26-year-old scored four victories and a total of eight podiums on his way to fifth overall in the drivers’ standings.
For his second full season in 2021, O’Keeffe moved to Garry Rogers Motorsport to drive one of its Renault Megane TCR cars, but the car was off the pace and his best result was sixth.
Things improved when O’Keeffe moved into Peugeot 308 TCR machinery for 2022, but a title charge failed to materialise as O’Keeffe scored three podiums on his way to ninth overall in the standings.
O’Keeffe takes over the Lynk & Co 03 previously raced by Tom Oliphant in 2023. His partnership with ASM goes all the way back to his days in the Porsche Sprint Challenge and Carerra Cup in 2016.
“The Lynk & Co is the best TCR car that I’ve driven so far, it is extremely responsive, and you have a lot at your disposal to tune the car exactly how you need it,” said O’Keeffe.
“TCR has been an extremely enjoyable category for me to compete in over the years. The level of competition is right up there, and the field is full of talented drivers and teams. To be back with Ash [Seward] is great, we’ve achieved a lot throughout my career.
“That 2019 season in TCR was a lot of fun, and every time I’ve gone racing for Ash he’s delivered an exceptional car. His preparation is second to none, and there’s no doubt the Lynk & Co will be in top shape when it rolls out for the weekend.
“I’ve enjoyed a fair amount of success at Sandown in the past, so I can’t wait to get going this weekend.”
