Bert Taylor will once again run his own team in TCR UK, after confirming that Taylor Racing Developments will contest the 2024 TCR UK season.
Taylor was previously instrumental in bringing Chris Smiley and Restart Racing into TCR UK at the start of the 2022 season, and although both drivers and team are moving to the British Touring Car Championship with Taylor’s son Ben at the helm, Bert has now confirmed he will continue in TCR.
Thus it will be a new team name for Taylor in his third season in TCR UK, but the experienced team manager brings a wealth of knowledge with him.
No details of cars or drivers were available as the news broke at the Autosport International show, with further details to follow at a later date.
“I’m very proud to bring Taylor Racing Developments to the 2024 TCR UK Touring Car Championship,” said Taylor.
“When we moved to TCR UK with Honda in 2022, it was clear how exciting and competitive TCR UK had become, with plenty of hard work going on behind the scenes from Stewart Lines, Nicki Lines and the team.
“Winning the title in 2022 was a massive reward for the team after all its efforts. Whilst 2023 required more hard work as the level of competitiveness grew, it’s also clear that the championship itself took another step forward.
“That’s why, for 2024, I’m back with a new team to take on the challenge of fighting for the top honours in TCR UK.”
Championship Promoter Stewart Lines is looking forward to continuing to see Taylor in the paddock in 2024.
“It’s fantastic to see that my good friend Bert Taylor is returning for another year of TCR UK,” added Lines. “Bert has been a stalwart of our championship since 2022 and we wish him all the success in 2024 with his new drivers.”
