Dan Cammish, on softs, led from start to finish as the NAPA Racing UK Fords dominated the action in race one at Croft leaving with a locked out podium.
First place never changed from start to finish but that was not the case for the field behind. Ash Sutton, on mediums, sat behind teammate Dan Rowbottom, on softs, the entire race before overtaking to take the second spot on the final lap.
The trio were in a league of their own as there was a further four seconds behind them before Josh Cook, on mediums, in fourth. Cook defended hard as the cars behind drew ever closer as the race went on.
Jake Hill, on softs, was the first of the frustrated party for MB Motorsport in fifth. Finishing 0.385 seconds behind Cook the third place man in the championship was stuck for the duration of the race.
Next was the man above Hill in the standings. Tom Ingram, on softs, was also a part of the queue behind Cook before dropping away on the final lap. Ingram, who passed Turkington in the opening exchanges, came home 1.217 seconds behind Hill.
Colin Turkington, on softs, could not get back passed Ingram and Hill after being overtaken early on. The Team BMW driver was on the tail of Ingram throughout the duration of the race again unable to make a pass. Turkington was only 0.279 seconds behind Ingram.
Stephen Jelley, on mediums, was in no man’s land in eighth. The 250th start for Jelley was a calm race. Teammate Turkington was 3.079 seconds up the road and the car behind was 15.647 seconds behind.
That car was Sam Osborne, on softs. Osborne made it all four NAPA Racing UK Fords in the top 10 after starting from 16th. A forceful move up the inside of Árón Taylor-Smith at Tower Bend was the first big move. Then getting past Aiden Moffat who was holding people up on hards was the second big move of his race. As a result Osborne came home in ninth.
Rounding out the top 10 was Taylor-Smith, on mediums. After starting eighth the Irishman was shuffled back early on. The race then came his way after also getting past the One Motorsport of Moffat to secure a top 10 finish.
