A lights to flag victory for Ash Sutton means the NAPA Racing UK driver has extended the gap at the top of the table. It is the first time anyone has won four on the bounce since 1997.
Sutton, unlike the rest of the podium places, used the soft tyres to get the launch and the opening lap to jump clear of the pack. After lap four the gap out front was 5.1 seconds and it never dipped below 4.2 seconds again.
Jake Hill brought the MB Motorsport car home into second after also starting on the front row. Hill had Team BMW driver Colin Turkington for company throughout the entire race but held the four-time champion just at arms length. Turkington finished 0.756 seconds behind Hill.
After all three drivers on the podium did not change position one time during that race, the first driver to have changed position is in fourth. Dan Rowbottom used the soft tyres to drive himself through the field starting in seventh and missing out on the podium by 0.283 seconds.
You cannot separate the other Team BMW drivers as Adam Morgan led Stephen Jelley to the line after doing so in race one. The gap between them was 3.7 seconds but the gap in race three will be metres as they start the reverse grid race locking out the front row.
Tom Ingram was the first and last runner to use the hard tyre in race two. The EXCELR8 driver will be gutted to not have pole on the medium tyre for race three missing out by one position.
The first driver to not be either a Ford or a BMW is followed by another in Rory Butcher in eighth. The Toyota Gazoo Racing UK car had a race of late defence as he was on the mediums whereas the drivers behind were on softs.
Sam Osborne was the first of these finishing only 0.422 seconds behind Butcher. That gap is huge in comparison to Dan Lloyd behind who nearly beat Osborne to the line only missing out by 0.080 seconds.
Dan Cammish, who lost the championship lead in race one, had a frustrating race on the medium tyres. This was after the NAPA Racing UK car dropped back at the start before making his way back up to his starting position. The only Ford or BMW not in the top 10 finishing 11th.
