TCR Europe reveals 2023 calendar with two returning venues

TCR Europe has unveiled its 2023 calendar, featuring seven events taking place between April and October at some of Europe’s most prestigious circuits.

As in 2022, the season will start at the Autodromo do Algarve in Portugal, with the season opener being held on the weekend of 28 – 30 April.

The date in Belgium at Spa-Francorchamps moves to an earlier point in the year on 26 – 28 May.

The series then returns to the Hungaroring in Hungary for the first time since 2019 on 16 – 18 June, before the fourth event of the year at Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France on 21 – 23 July.

The Red Bull Ring in Austria also returns to the calendar for the first time since 2019 on 8 – 10 September, although the event remains to be confirmed.

The season then concludes with the traditional rounds at Monza and Barcelona, which aside from 2020 have always formed the final two rounds.

The event at Monza takes place on 22 – 24 September, followed by the season finale in Catalunya on 20 – 22 October.

Unlike in recent seasons, where TCR Europe has supported several championships including GT Open, DTM and GT world Challenge Europe over the course of the year, next season will see TCR Europe be on the GT Open support bill for the entire season.

“We are all looking forward to another great year in TCR Europe in 2023 and releasing the calendar now means our existing teams and those thinking of joining us can start to make firm plans,” said Paulo Ferreira, TCR Europe Promoter.

“We have become known for offering a great calendar that visits some of Europe’s most iconic racing circuits.

“There will also be some more news to come about the technology we plan to introduce for next year – we think of it as a new era in TCR competition – so I would advise teams and drivers considering a TCR Europe entry in 2023 to keep an eye open for more details.”
