The Brutal Fish Racing Team has announced it is to withdraw from the TCR Europe series with immediate effect ‘due to several issues’.
The Slovakian team has been a mainstay in European TCR competition since it became a full series in 2018, with Martin Ryba competing in more races than any other driver to-date.
For 2022, the outfit was running a pair of Honda Civic Type-R cars for Ryba and Spaniard Pepe Oriola, but after a difficult weekend last time out at Spa-Francorchamps, in which the team recorded three retirements out of four starts, it has decided to call time on its involvement in the series.
The full statement released by the team read:
“It is game over.
“As from today Brutalfish racing team will withdraw from the 2022 TCR Europe season. We have taken this decision due to several issues.
“It was a blast being a part of the series since 2018 but now it is time to move on.
“Thank you so much to all the TCR Europe organisation people for all that you have done for us you are awesome.
“We would like to say thanx to all the teams and drivers as we all consider them as big friends especially you Tom Coronel.
“Pepe Oriola it was mega to spend three intensive years with you Pepino. We are sure you will get a drive right away as you are one of the best TCR drivers in the world. You are family.
“We will announce our future racing plans in next 14 days and it will be brutal….”
