The 2023 British Touring Car Championship calendar has been published, with the series set to visit Donington Park twice next year, including racing on the Grand Prix loop for the first time in over 20 years.
The announcement of the calendar is earlier than ever before. The championship will once again be comprised of 30 races held over ten racing weekends.
The biggest change from the current season is that rather than Thruxton having two events, Donington Park in the East Midlands will stage two meetings.
The season will kick off on the Donington Park National circuit on 22 – 23 April, before moving on to the Brands Hatch Indy circuit in early May, as in 2021.
Snetterton gets an earlier date than usual with the Norfolk circuit set to stage the third meeting of the year in late May.
Thruxton retains an early season date, whilst Oulton Park again hosts the BTCC in June.
Croft has been pushed back by around a month to host the sixth event, before Knockhill in mid-August.
The Donington Park Grand Prix circuit was last used for the BTCC in 2002 and will be the venue for the eighth meeting in late August.
The season concludes with the Silverstone National circuit in September and the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in October.
“I’m very pleased to be able to confirm our 2023 British Touring Car Championship calendar,” said BTCC Chief Executive Alan Gow.
“We’ve never announced a following season schedule as early as May before, which provides great forward planning for our teams, partners, fans and all stakeholders.”
