TCR Denmark regular Nicolai Sylvest is planning to take part in selected races of the 2022 TCR Europe series, after confirming that he will return to TCR Denmark in a CUPRA Leon Competición.
Sylvest, 24, has competed in the Danish series for the past two seasons, racing in both campaigns with LM Racing, initially in a Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR in 2020 before switching to the new CUPRA last year.
He joined his most successful season in 2021, winning four times on his way to fourth overall in the drivers’ championship standings.
This year, Sylvest will again be in a CUPRA, albeit with a new team, Green Development. The brand-new team is planning to race with environmentally-conscious credentials.
“The team will, as a basic principle, use green, sustainable technologies and solutions – both for the racer and everything else in the team,” said the team in a press release.
“The goal is that with our platform in motorsport we can take the lead in actively contributing to the development of an environmentally friendly future.
“Green Development is in close dialogue about the project with the Danish Automobile Sports Union, and in addition to winning championships, it must also function as a development platform for the green motorsport of the future”.
The team has not yet revealed which European events it is considering for this season.
