The calendar for the inaugural FIA ETCR eTouring Car World Cup has been approved by the FIA World Motorsport Council, featuring seven rounds between May and October.
Given that the series is promoted by Discovery Sports Events, which also promotes the FIA World Touring Car Cup, several rounds will share the bill with WTCR.
The season will kick off on the city circuit of Pau Ville in May, together with WTCR, before moving to Istanbul, Turkey, where the series will race on the Istanbul City Circuit later the same month.
In June the series teams up with WTCR for its third round at the Hungaroring, before moving to Spain a week later for a standalone event at Jarama – another new circuit for Discovery Sports Events.
In July the series will race on the legendary touring car circuit at Zolder, before returning to Vallelunga, where the series raced this year as PURE ETCR, two weeks’ later.
The season will conclude at the Inje Speedium in South Korea in October, where it joins forces with WTCR for a third and final time.
The sporting and technical regulations for the series have also been approved by the FIA, with further details to follow.
