Senna Proctor pipped BTC Racing teammate Josh Cook to take pole position for race one of the weekend at Brands Hatch by just 0.011 of a second in the British Touring Car Championship.
The Honda Civic driver, who grabs his second pole position of the season, had on his previous lap gone second quickest on the leaderboard before continuing to improve on his next lap and set a time of 1 minute 30.237.
Teammate Cook, who had led the session before Proctor got the better of him, had to settle for second place, with the leading duo and third place Daniel Rowbottom being split by just 0.045 of a second.
Gordon Shedden, who was fastest in FP2 earlier on Saturday afternoon, finished behind his Halfords Racing with Cataclean teammate by just 0.077 of a second with his time of 1 minute 30.359.
Dan Lloyd ended the session fifth in the Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall, although was just nine thousandths of a second behind Shedden ahead, with championship leader Ash Sutton taking sixth in the first of the Laser Tool Racing Infinitis.
Ahead of race one of the weekend on Sunday, Sutton will line up on the grid ahead of a number of his championship rivals including both Colin Turkington – who finished eighth in qualifying, Jake Hill who ended the session 11th and Tom Ingram, who could only manage 13th quickest.
Sutton’s teammate Aiden Moffat will start race one in seventh, while Turkington’s Team BMW teammate Stephen Jelley will line-up alongside him in ninth. Tom Chilton completed the top 10 ahead of race one of the weekend.
Rory Butcher in the Toyota GAZOO Racing UK Corolla struggled in the session and could only manage 19th quickest, while series returnee Andy Wilmott was forced to sit out the session in the EXCELR8 with TradePriceCars.com Hyundai.
Race one of the final round of the British Touring Car Championship is set to take place at 11:30 BST on Sunday.
