Erstwhile second-place finisher Josh Cook has been excluded from the results of the second British Touring Car Championship race at Silverstone for failing the post-race ride height check.
Cook had fought hard with Toyota’s Rory Butcher for the win in race two, including making a late lunge up the inside at Brooklands for the lead, only to lock up and cut across the grass.
After the race, the BTC Racing driver’s Honda could be seen on the TV pictures to struggle to allow the roller to move freely under the splitter at the front of the car during the regular post-race checks.
As a result, he has been excluded from the result, losing him the 17 points he would have earned for second.
The decision also changes the starting grid for the final race of the day, which sees the top 11 classified finishers from race two flipped.
As such, Power Maxed Racing’s Daniel Lloyd will start from pole, with Jason Plato, who had been set to have the pole, alongside in second.
Race three is scheduled to get underway at 17:05 BST.
