Audi Sport has officially started sales of the new 2021-specification Audi RS3 LMS TCR, with the car having already clinched two outright victories in the FIA World Touring Car Cup.
Comtoyou Racing has been campaigning the new car in the FIA WTCR since the start of the season, with the Belgian team having had access to four of the cars before the new model was officially offered to customers.
Audi Sport is hoping the car can equal the success of its predecessor, which was first offered in 2017. A total of 180 of the previous model RS3 LMS were sold, making it the most sold model of racing car ever by Audi Sport.
“This market launch has been long awaited by many customers,” said Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing.
“Our customers have clinched more than 300 race victories and 55 championship titles with the first-generation Audi RS 3 LMS to date.
“In the process, we have received valuable experience and wishes as feedback. Our new car is the sum of this feedback and the creativity of our engineers.”
The car is available at a starting price of €137,500 + VAT, with teams receiving the cart in a ready-to-race condition.
A kit for endurance racing is also offered, featuring a pre-assembled wiring kit for auxiliary headlights, a racing anti-lock braking system and a device for external refuelling.
Deliveries of the car, homologated since May, are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2021.
