Marcel Fugel has confirmed that he will return to the ADAC TCR Germany series in 2021, once again racing a Honda Civic Type-R run by Team Honda ADAC Sachsen.
Fugel finished fifth overall in the 2020 Drivers’ standings, picking up three podium finishes including a best result of second at the Sachsenring.
The 20-year-old was also the Junior Champion in the series, as he ran a consistent campaign to claim the honours.
Having first entered TCR Germany in 2018, last year was Fugel’s first full season in the series.
“Of course, ideally the goal is the title, but everything is still a long way off,” said Fugel. “I’m definitely aiming for the top three.”
“It was a very good season, now we have to see where we are headed in 2021.”
This year, he will race without brother Dominik as his team-mate, who will instead compete in the ADAC GT Masters instead.
“Of course, I will miss him here and there as a team-mate. We always talked a lot with each other and discussed how to approach certain passages or curves. But he is not out of the world, but instead in a different series.”
Despite not having his brother in the team, the outfit is still intending to run a second car alongside Fugel and is in discussion with interested parties.
