Rob Huff has been stripped of this year’s Macau Guia Race victory after being handed a thirty-second time penalty for his role in the incident with Ma Qing Hua at Mandarin Bend.
The two drivers had been battling for the lead of the race when light contact from Huff on the rear of Ma’s Lynk & Co pitched the Chinese driver into a spin. Ma consequently hit the inside barriers with force, putting him out of the race.
As a result, Huff is now classified as 23rd in the final race result.
The bad news for MG X-Power doesn’t end there either. Andy Yan, who finished the race in third position, was also awarded a thirty-second time penalty, dropping him down to 25th.
So, the final podium result now features Zhang as the eventual winner, with Sunny Wong in second place to make it a 1-2 for Shell Teamwork Motorsport.
Lo Sze Ho is promoted up into third for Maximum Racing, while Yiu Lung and James Tang are promoted up into ninth and tenth place respectively.
