ADAC Motorsport has released a revised calendar for the 2020 TCR Germany series, featuring seven events over a 13-week period between August and October.
The season had originally been set to kick off at Oschersleben on the 24 – 26 April, but that had already been set back due to the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus crisis affecting the world.
Now the organiser has also postponed the second and third events of the year at Most in the Czech Republic and the Red Bull Ring in Austria, which had been set to be held on 15 – 17 May and 5 – 7 June respectively.
Instead, the season will now get underway at either Most or the EuroSpeedway Lausitz on 31 July – 2 August. Lausitz has never before featured on the TCR Germany calendar, and its inclusion is a possible option should it not be possible to race at Most that weekend.
The dates for the events at the Nürburgring, Zandvoort, Hockenheim and the Sachsenring remain unchanged from their original slots.
The event at the Red Bull Ring has been added to the tail end of the season, now mooted for 16 – 18 October, whilst the season is now scheduled to be concluded at Oschersleben on 23 – 25 October.
“The health and well-being of everyone involved and the audience is our top priority,” said ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss. “We will continue to keep an eye on the situation and react flexibly as developments require.
“The start of the season in August is the start of a very compact calendar seven events and an unchanged format on the race weekends.”
