Cyan Racing has confirmed that it will run four Lynk & Co 03 TCR cars in this year’s FIA World Touring Car Cup, as the Swedish team seeks to defend the teams’ title which it secured in its inaugural year.
The Swedish team débuted the Chinese-built Lynk & Co 03 TCR in last year’s WTCR, and although Yvan Muller and Thed Björk missed out on the drivers’ title, the duo were able to help the squad liftg the teams’ title.
As in 2019, Cyan Racing will run two teams of two cars each, although the driver line-up for its four cars will be revealed at a later date.
Cars will be entered under the banner of Cyan Racing Lynk & Co and Cyan Performance Lynk & Co as in the 2019 season.
“Our goal is clear, we want to continue challenging for the top this season, which we expect to be even tougher than last year,” said Christian Dahl, CEO and founder of Cyan Racing.
“The result of last year with a brand-new race car, in a brand-new programme with Lynk & Co is a true testament to the strong efforts of everyone involved, from Sweden to China.
“We need to consolidate this and continue to move forward as our competitors are not resting. But neither are we and we have developed our organisation and processes over the winter in order to face the challenges of 2020.”
The car has been developed by Geely Group Motorsport in China, with extensive input from its motorsport partner Cyan Racing.
The Lynk & Co 03 TCR claimed eight race wins in 2019, with a combined total of 21 podium visits between Muller, Björk, Andy Priaulx and Yann Ehrlacher.
