Josh Files will take part in the TCR Asia series in 2020, racing a Hyundai Veloster N TCR for the Solite Indigo Racing team, having made his Asian racing début earlier in the month in Malaysia.
Files, the 2019 TCR Europe champion, raced in the second round of the TCR Malaysia series with the South Korean team earlier in the month, and he has now been confirmed for the full five-event TCR Asia season.
The Brit will be joined by Korean racer Kim Jin Soo, who will also take part in this weekend’s TCR Malaysia season finale in Sepang alongside Files.
Kim will race an i30 N TCR, whilst Files will be behind the wheel of a Veloster N TCR. The team is led by veteran driver Lee Jae woo, who previously ran the Chevrolet Racing Korea operation.
“I’m super happy to be joining Solite Indigo Racing for the TCR Asia series,” said four-time TCR champion Files. “It’s a completely new challenge for me.
“The guys at the team are really great and we are all pumped and ready to take the fight on. We have started our preparations in TCR Malaysia to give maximum attack for the TCR Asia series and challenge for the title.
