Mike Halder and Dominik Fugel will continue to race with Team Honda ADAC Sachsen in the 2019 TCR Germany series, entering their second season as team-mates.
Halder, 23, finished as the runner-up in the 2017 standings behind title-winner Josh Files, whilst last year he took three victories on his way to fourth overall in the championship.
Having also tasted victory in the TCR Europe season finale in Barcelona last year, Halder now wants to go even better and clinch the drivers’ title in TCR Germany.
“The goal is of course to win the championship and to score as many victories as possible,” said Halder. “Now we must first do our homework, so that we always finish in the points and bring the championship home.
“As in 2018 it was also a very early decision to continue with Team Fugel and Team Halder; it worked perfectly together last year and I would like to hook the ADAC TCR Germany title.”
Fugel made a return to racing in 2018 after missing the 2017 season through injury. He added to his maiden TCR Germany win in 2016 with a second victory at the Nürburgring, and hopes that Halder can help the team secure the two titles in 2019.
“After two team vice-championships, our goal is clearly to win the team and drivers’ championship,” said Fugel.
“The whole team benefited from Mike, which is why it was important to us that he again drives with us. We want to win the championship with Mike this year.
“Of course, it would be nice if there could be a few more points in the coming season. In the end the most important thing is to take points and then you’ll see where you come out in the end.”
