Organisers of the TCR UK Series have announced that entries for the second season are now open, with a ‘significant reduction’ in entry fees to the series being one of the main items.
Amongst a raft of recent changes in the series, including shorter race distances and a two-part qualifying session in line with other TCR series’, as well as a new COO, the promoters have also opted to ‘significantly reduce’ the entry fees.
There will also be a new class known as the ‘TCR UK Cup’ which is targeted at so-called ‘gentleman’ drivers who are competing as amateurs.
“Together with the announcements we made last week about changes to the Qualifying and Race formats, the news about the lowering of entry fees and the addition of the TCR UK Cup are a direct result of the feedback we received from the teams at the end of our first year,” said Chief Operating Officer David Sonenscher.
“I’ve had really positive reaction in my discussions with potential teams and drivers and so I’m pleased that we’re confirming both as we open entries for the 2019 season.”
