Experienced sportscar and Formula outfit Eurasia Motorsport will enter the 2019 TCR Asia series after expanding into touring cars, campaigning two Hyundai i30 N TCR cars, one of which will be driven by Daniel Miranda.
23-year-old Filipino Miranda will continue with the team, after having contested the 2018 Asian Formula Renault series with Eurasia.
“We have been looking at TCR for several years and with Daniel we could see a perfect opportunity to join with a young talented driver who should be competitive from the first event,” said Team Principal Mark Goddard.
“He is already a national touring car champion and his year in Formula Renault with us has given him the opportunity to hone his talent to the point where we are confident that he’ll be competitive in international touring cars.”
Before competing in Formula Renault, Miranda was the 2017 Philippine Toyota Vios Champion. Eurasia has previously worked with F1 stars Daniel Ricciardo and Antonio Giovinazzi.
The 2019 TCR Asia series gets underway at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia in early April.
