Sydney-based HMO Customer Racing has taken delivery of its first Hyundai i30 N TCR car ahead of the first season of the TCR Australia series in 2019.
The car had been flown to Australia directly from Hyundai Motorsport’s headquarters in Alzenau in Germany.
The car will be seen in Monday’s ‘media and competitors’ day for the upcoming TCR Australia series, which is to be held at the Sydney Motorsport Park.
It is the four model of car to be scheduled for the invite-only day, along with the the Audi RS 3, Volkswagen Golf GTi and the Honda Civic.
A second i30 N is anticipated in the coming weeks.
“HMO Customer Racing is very excited to be competing in the inaugural TCR Australia series,” said HMO Customer Racing owner Barry Morcom.
“We have great support from Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing, and we are pleased to have received our first i30 N into Australia. This car was airfreighted from Germany, and our second car will arrive soon via sea freight.
“We will announce our drivers in for 2019 in due course.
“With the various manufacturers, HMO Customer Racing sees this world-renowned category as an exciting step for Australian Motorsport.”
