Ma Qing Hua was handed a post-race five-second penalty in the second World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) race on the streets of Wuhan, after the Honda driver knocked Rob Huff out of the points.
Ma had originally been classified in eighth but was given a post-race five-second penalty for the contact with Huff at the hairpin on lap nine. The bump also allowed YMR’s Yvan Muller to pass, and left the Brit facing no points from the race.
The change to the result promotes Comtoyou Racing’s Denis Dupont to eighth, YMR’s Muller to ninth and Huff into tenth, with Ma being classified in 12th behind Team Mulsanne’s Kevin Ceccon after the penalty.
Elsewhere, Campos Racing’s John Filippi has been given a drop of ten grid places for the next race in Japan for contact with YMR’s Thed Björk in the same race.
Münnich Motorsport’s Timo Scheider faces a grid drop of three places in the next race at Suzuka after contact with Gabriele Tarquini in the second race.
