Howard Fuller will not contest this weekend’s TCR UK Series event at Castle Combe with Sean Walkinshaw Racing, after a sponsor pulled out shortly before the meeting.
Though TouringCars.net understands an entry was received for the Honda Civic FK2 racer, neither the team nor driver have turned up to the 1.8 mile Wiltshire circuit in an official capacity.
It marks the second time the former British Touring Car Championship driver has missed an event, with team boss Sean Walkinshaw stepping in to fill the void at Knockhill earlier in the season.
Fuller currently sits sixth overall in the standings, just five points adrift of Lewis Kent’s Hyundai i30 N TCR.
In a post on Facebook, Fuller explained: “As some of you may have noticed I’m not attending rounds 7-8 at Castle Combe this weekend in TCR UK.
“I’d like to say a huge thanks to the guys and girls at SWR doing there very best to get us out and of course TCR. Absolutely loving my time in the championship and I wish the best of luck to everyone involved.
“The news came late to us with the unfortunate departure of a sponsor who felt they got the best out of our package in a positive way and has moved onto different things. We still have fantastic business partners, investors and sponsors heavily involved who are still benefiting greatly from our unique strategy.”
