Engstler Motorsport will run two Hyundai i30 N TCR cars in the next round of the ADAC TCR Germany series at the Nürburgring in early August, with Luca Engstler and Theo Coicaud switching to the South Korean cars.
Engstler Motorsport have had a long relationship with German car brands over the decades, but have also had associations with Alfa Romeo and SEAT in the past in the DTM and TCR International Series respectively. In recent years the team have run Volkswagen Golf GTi cars, having been the first to run the cars in 2015 from Volkswagen Motorsport.
Now the German team will run two of the leading TCR cars of the moment, with Engstler and Coicaud giving the i30 N its first outing in TCR Germany.
“We are very proud to be able to represent this successful and dynamic brand in the ADAC TCR Germany,” said Team Principal Franz Engstler. “The entire team is extremely excited about the new challenge and great cooperation.”
Marks Schrick, the Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Deutschland, is looking forward to working with Engstler as the brand continues to push its sporty image in Europe.
“The ADAC TCR Germany is the logical next step in our motorsport commitment for Hyundai Germany, and in the past few years we have set our sights on the circuit with our inserts in the VLN and at the 24h races on the Nürburgring Nordschleife”, said Schrick.
“We have a high-performance vehicle in the program that appeals to customers emotionally with the Hyundai i30 N.
“We are very pleased that we have an experienced and successful partner at our side with Team Engstler.”
