Standings leader Dan Lloyd went quickest in the warm-up session of TCR UK at Castle Combe, after edging out Ollie Taylor in the closing stages.
The WestCoast Racing driver set the pace early on in the session, before Pyro Motorsport’s Ollie Taylor forced the six-time winner to improve on his time.
Lloyd then responded with a 1:06.884 to top the session with five minutes remaining, and was the only man to go under the 1:07s mark in the 30-minute session.
Swedish racer Andreas Backman set a 1:07.334 to go third fastest, with sibling Jessica making it three WestCoast Racing VWs in the top five behind Finlay Crocker’s Honda Civic Type R.
The session was red-flagged just three minutes in, after Robert Gilmour’s DPE Motorsport Alfa Romeo Giulietta appeared to stop out on track.
He was towed back to the paddock with no cosmetic damage to the car, and did not take part in the rest of the session.
His teammate Derek Palmer was sixth-fastest in warm-up, ahead of the two Maximum Motorsport CUPRAs of Carl Swift and Stewart Lines.
Lewis Kent was next in his Hyundai, just over two seconds off Lloyd’s benchmark time, with Darelle Wilson’s Vauxhall Astra rounding out the top ten.
The next on-track action for TCR UK is scheduled to get underway at 12:20, with a half-hour practice session.
