WestCoast Racing’s Dan Lloyd was over half a second clear of nearest rival Ollie Taylor in the final practice session of TCR UK at Castle Combe.
Lloyd, who set the pace in the first third of the session, then improved his time to go 0.632s clear of Taylor’s Honda with five minutes to go.
Although Lloyd enjoyed a comfortable margin, his lap time of 1:07.084 was exactly two tenths slower than his benchmark lap in warm-up this morning.
Andreas Backman was next, over two tenths clear of Stewart Lines’ CUPRA, which had a half-spin at Camp Corner in the dying moments of the session.
Fellow CUPRA runner Carl Swift was fifth fastest ahead of Jessica Backman, who equalled Lines in completing the most laps of the half-hour practice, with 19 tours of the circuit.
Finlay Crocker was seventh fastest with Derek Palmer’s DPE Motorsport Alfa Romeo behind him.
After treating this morning’s warm-up as a “shakedown” session, Lewis Kent was once again nursing his Hyundai i30 N after a problem with his front-left tyre bolt yesterday.
Completing the top ten was Darelle Wilson in his Vauxhall Astra, 2.355 seconds off Lloyd’s time.
Robert Gilmour’s Alfa Romeo did not take part in the session after an ECU issue in warm-up this morning which brought out the red flag.
