The provisional calendar for the 2019 British Touring Car Championship season has been revealed by series organisers TOCA.
The main change sees the omission of Rockingham Motor Speedway from the schedule, with Thruxton gaining a second event in August in addition to its regular slot in May.
The possible sale of the venue and TOCA’s need for clarity has been cited as the reason for it’s exclusion.
Thruxton last featured on the calendar twice in one year in 2007 when the event at Silverstone was removed.
Another break in format sees Oulton Park and Croft swap slots in the schedule, with the trip north to Yorkshire coming in mid-June and the Oulton Park visit around a month later than in previous seasons.
The season is still book-ended by trips to Brands Hatch in Kent in April and October respectively, with visits to Donington Park, Snetterton, Knockhill and Silverstone still included.
